Account activation process

We receive numerous account creation request each day and we thank you for that. However, we noticed that some users do not activate their account.

As part of the profile creation process, an email gets sent out to the user with account activation steps. A user must follow those instructions to activate the account. We occasionally remove unactivated account requests as part of our housekeeping tasks.

It is possible that emails generated by our system lands in your junk mail folder. We advice your to take necessary action to prevent this from happening.

It is also possible that our system failed to send out account activation email. In this case, we encourage users to writes us immediately if they do not receive such email within an hour or so.

We recently sent out reminders to the owners of unactivated accounts and majority of them activated their account and we thank them !!

OpenID coming to MCE Alumni soon

If you are a frequent visitor here, you would have noticed that MCE Alumni is becoming more social.

We continue our quest to bring you the most meaningful visitor experience. We are in the process of implementing OpenID authentication feature that will go live soon.

Once implemented, you will be able to sign up and sign in using your existing OpenID provider such as Google, Yahoo, Live, LinkedIn, Facebook, Myspace, etc.

What it means is that you have to remember one less password. We will post updates as soon as it goes live.

Internet Explorer issue resolved

Those who use IE must have noticed that despite sign in, profiles were not shown correctly. This issue was related to how IE handled cache in version 6+ onwards.
We have resolved this issue and you should be able to access pages without any problem.

Issues with Internet Explorer

Some users have reported that they can not view user's full profile despite successful sign-in.

We have identified that it happens randomly with IE browser. It is a known incompatibility problem with IE. However work around exists and we are in the process of putting fix that will eliminate this problem.

Until we fix this issue, we recommend you to use any other browser such as Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, etc.

We will post an update as soon as this is completed.

I always had a desire to visit my college since I left it way back in 1994. Finally When I joined Yahoo Bangalore early this year I made up my mind to visit MCE Hassan very soon. Finally on 11th April 2009 I drove to my College.

It was Feb, 2001 when we launched MCE Alumni through our own domain. Prior to that, we made our presence felt through one of the free home pages site.

It has been over three years since we became more visible among MCE alumnus. We are amazed to see growing numbers of our alumnus. We thank you for that.

By the way, don't forget to pass on a word about us to any other MCE friend you might know. You are the best source to make your alumni site known among ex-mce students.

In an effort to make our alumni even more useful and meaningful, we are launching our own Blog. We are going to post updates about upcoming new features or improvements to MCE Alumni.

As you might have already noticed we have been receiving several improvement related feedback. You may feel that your feedbacks were not being taken seriously. That's not the case. We do read them and try to act upon whenever our schedule permits.

So keep watching this space about announcements regarding upcoming features and enhancements. Also don't forget to leave your comments here.
